During their visit to the Canning Town residential and life skills centre, the pupils met residents and learnt about how the Anchor House team have helped and supported them to turn their lives around.
Residents and staff were delighted with the generous donations made by the SSPP community and were also impressed with the way the children conducted themselves during the visit and their intelligent and insightful questions and answers. Anchor House helps some 200 single homeless people every year and residents recently presented a petition to Downing Street, urging the Prime Minister to take action over an unexpected VAT bill that is threatening the services it can provide to vulnerable people.
